Long Absence

So it has been a while since I last posted. I have no excuse unless you count working full-time, having a toddler that gets into everything, going back to school and volunteering with the wrestling team at Layton High School. No excuses.
Not too much happening...Jack is into everything and he doesn't just walk, he runs! That kid only has one speed and that is fast. It is so much fun though. He is just growing so fast. He is now talking up a storm. Most of the time I can't understand a word he says, he babbles and babbles. In fact, at school the teachers have to sit with him when he goes down for a nap because he talks so much. And when he first wakes up they have to get him away from the other kids or his talking wakes them up. Like mother like son I guess. He does say single words clearly, but doesn't up them together in a sentence. Words like: daddy, bubble, car, Daisy, fish, treat, papa, ball, football, etc. We went to the doctor last week and Jack was 50% in height, 75% in head size and 10% in weight. We just can't seem to get him out of the 10%. He is drinking whole milk, eating whole milk yogurt and eating pudding. he is a really good eater, but he just stays skinny. The doctor says not to worry so we will just we won't.

We had a lot of visitors this summer. Uncle Chuck came out for a visit.

My 5 year class reunion

Over the last 3 months we have had a couple of trips that were so much fun. Our first trip was to Kauai, Hawaii. The trip was fabulous. It was a long flight, but Jack did surprisingly well. He had a little bit of of melt down on the way out, but that because our flight to San Francisco was delayed, making us miss our flight to Honolulu and thus our 11 hour trip (with time changes) took 15 hours (with time changes). So one melt down isn't too bad. On the way back we flew the red eye and he slept both legs of the trip...it was great. jack loved playing in the sand, floating in the ocean and playing in the pool. Of course this was a much different trip than in the past. We did not do as many activities, but it was nice to just hang out and enjoy all the beautiful ambiance that Hawaii has to offer. Dusting, Grammy and I did get food poisoning so this took a good 24-48 hours away from our trip. Of course it only took about 12 hours out of mommy's trip because Jack didn't understand that we were sick and he was ready to go so Jack, Grampy and Mommy took a train ride to feed some pigs and goats and then Jack and I spent a lot of time at the pool while Daddy recovered. All and all it was a great trip and we had a great time. I look forward to our next trip and hopefully a particular uncle, auntie and cousins can come too!

When we got home from Hawaii we had a fabulous Halloween with our little dragon and a fun trip to the pumpkin patch. Thanksgiving with Grandpa Pete, Uncle Porter and Aunt Chloe. We also went with some friend to see Santa, Jack was unimpressed.

Our next trip was to Medford for Christmas! I think Jack jinxes us however because when we got to Medford (on Christmas eve) and we went down for a landing and then pulled back up, circled and then had to go get more fuel because there was too much fog to land. We got more gas and went back to Medford, circled for 40 min and then finally landed. It was crazy! Once we landed all was good. Grandpa Bob picked us up at the airport and we had Christmas eve with Grandpa Bob, Grandma Cindy, Grammy, Grampy, Uncey B, Auntie Kari and cousin Janey. It was so fun to see Jack and Janey together. I think they had a good time playing together. I will have to say that Brian and Kari kept telling us how tough Janey was and how Jack was in trouble...so we spent some time before coming training Jack and he took that girl down and showed her who the older cousin was...It was funny the first time, but then we had to hold Jack back and stop encouraging him...I hated seeing my niece cry. Christmas day it was the above group with the addition of Great Grandma Korfhage and my Uncle Al, Cousin John, Cousin Debbie and her husband Steve and their daughter Elise. Another kid in the mix who is between Jack and Janey's age and they all ran around and Grandpa Bob was in the middle playing hide and seek and horsie riding. I can't tell you how much fun it was spending time with my family and it all went by too quickly. I look forward to the time we can all get together again.

All and all things are really good. we have been attending Ute basketball games, going to the library for toddler time and Jack has been hanging out with mom at some of the wrestling meets. I will be much better with my blogging and post more often. Sorry!
