Visit with Santa

Last week we went to see Santa. I didn't know how it would go because last year Santa completely freaked him out. This year all went well. Jack asked for a Transformer...with guns! It's doable. The good thing this year is I can tell Jack if he is not a good boy or if he doesn't do what I ask I threaten to call Santa...maybe there are better methods, but this one works!

Halloween 2011

Just a few pictures from Halloween. Jack finally got it this year and he would have trick-or-treated all night. He had such a great time with Uncle Merrick! The only thing he didn't like was how heavy his bucket got when it was full of candy. He only got to eat about half his candy because as far as he is concerned he is allergic to nuts...we are going to take him to the allergist in a couple of weeks and we will know for sure.

Stressful Week

Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone, I can now take a deep breath before we dive into the Christmas season. One week before Thanksgiving we were informed that Jack's school would be closing it's doors for good...on November 30th. Really...2 weeks was all the notice we got. The stressed out and anal mother that I am, after hearing the news, I got right on the phone and started calling places I looked at before Jack was born. Luckily one of the schools I had looked at had an opening. I was so relieved I just cried. Jack has been at his current school since he was 12 weeks old. He knows all of the teachers and is truly happy there. It is hard to think about starting over...developing new relationships with new staff. The good news is we have friends with their kids at the new school and they really like it so I am hopeful.

In addition to trusting a new staff I do worry about how Jack will do at a new a new school. I probably worry more than I should, but being a kid who changed schools a lot I know it is somewhat hard no matter what age you are. I did take him to his new school in Wednesday so he could meet I new teacher and see his class. In his previous school, since he was 12 weeks old, he has had 1, maybe 2 little girls and many times there have been no little girls. His new class will have 3 boys and the rest girls. It will be good for him, but I worry he will be too rough. The boys at his current school are rough and they all play rough together...I hope he will learn to be more gentle. I hope we don't get too many calls from his teacher. Stay tuned for how Jack adapts.

Thanksgiving was great...we were at PaPa Pete's house. Despite finding a blown hot water heater valve and over an inch of water in our storage room while finishing the turkey and stuffing...things were good.

Looking forward into the next week we will be starting the new school and my crazy wrestling season will start, but Christmas is coming and that I am excited about!

It's been a looooooong time!

I know it has been forever since I have posted anything, but now blogger has an app and I can just do it from my phone. In October took a trip with Brian, Kari, Janey, Bode, Grammy and Grampy to the beautiful island of Kauai. What an amazing trip! The kids loved being together and it will be a memory I will never. I huge thank you to Grammy and Grampy for making this trip possible. We love you do much!
