Getting Bigger

I know I know!!! It has been a while, but work makes things so much harder. Jack seems to be progressing along well. He is holding his head up really well while both sitting and lying on his tummy. We have had no roll overs yet! I know that people say not to compare your kids to others, but it is hard. Jack shows signs of rolling from his back to his front, he gets 3/4 of the way there, but just doesn't go over. I know it will come. He has shown no signs at all of going from tummy to back. He just plays on his tummy and when he is done, he cries. I suppose that when he is finally motivated enough it will happen. We see his doctor next week and I will just her about it then. I am sure she will say not to worry about it. I will keep you posted.
We made it through the first cold...of course he got both Dustin and I sick. A friend of ours made a good point (I'm not sure it is very scientific), she said that we are not used to the kid germs and they are harder to fight off. It might be a long winter. We did not have to have any antibiotics but his nose was very congested and he hated having his boogers sucked out. I did call his doctor and she said they try to keep them off antibiotics if they can. She said to watch for fever and not eating or sleeping. He did not have any of these signs so it was just a little saline in the nose and then a good suck and the boogers came right out! Just a hint: If you want to get a good suck be sure to close one nostril when sucking the other. This keeps the boogers from just being sucked from side to side.

Here are a few short videos of how much he is growing and changing. The first one is a bath time video. After we are done with his bathing, I take him out of his chair, hold his head and let him float. He loves kicking his arms and legs in the water. He can create quite a splash!

The next video is a little giggling. We have had some better giggle fits, but this is the one we have on video.

This last video is just totally random! We were at home watching a Tennessee Titans football game and I needed the Titans to win for my football pool. I was just being silly and it seemed to make Jack very happy.

All and all things have been great here in Salt Lake City! We just love being Jack's parents!

Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Jackson had a great Halloween...or at least I think he did. Dustin and I had fun having Halloween with little Jack. He was such a sweet little cow. I am pretty sure he was the cutest little cow ever!

The day before Halloween we went to a cookie party with my best friend Amy's family. Amy's nephew Michael and his wife Emily have a little boy, Will, who is 3 weeks younger than Jackson. He might look like he is older but he is not older, just bigger. He makes Jack look like a little midget. They made a great pair, the candy corn and the cow...BFF's!

On Halloween our little cow handed out candy to the kids that came to the house. We missed most of them because when we went out to walk Daisy and it seemed like all the kids were out and when we got home there were none. After handing out some candy we went visiting our friends and showing off our cute cow. We ended up at Amy's sister's house playing Rock Band. While you think it might be hard to play Rock Band with an infant it wasn't because we had Toni. Toni is Amy's sister and she took Jack into her room and cuddled him and loved him until we went home around midnight.

It was a good Halloween and we look froward to next year...he won't be able to do much trick or treating, maybe a house or two but he will probably be walking. I am definitely not ready for that yet!
